Bueller? Bueller?

What do they call the loo in Italy?

As leaders of the industrialized world lined up for their ‘family’ photo today, they were once again, waiting for Prime Minister Stephen Harper to show up and take his place with the group.

His late arrival at the London G20 photo op in April had prompted jokes about his having been in the “loo.” This morning, the Canadian prime minister finally arrived well after U.S. President Barack Obama jogged into his spot. Harper’s colleagues giggled, as some in the waiting crowd called out “Harper? Harper? Where’s Harper?”

Bueller? Bueller?

  1. Geeze… the first time I thought it was unintentional/forgivable and not directly associated with his penchant for being late to absolutely every announcement, press conference, etc. in Canada. Now it's just ridiculous and perfectly clear that he has no respect for other people's time.

  2. Can't wait to see the 10-percenters where Harper blames his colon on the Liberals!

  3. Dove bano?

  4. As Bugs Bunny would have said, "What a maroon."

  5. With this example (again) in Italy, and the lack of preperation for Harper on the particulars of a Roman Catholic funeral, I am wondering if it's time for a shake up of his Advance Staff?

    • wondering about a shake up? man, i am wondering if he has an Advanced staff at this point.

  6. I have friends who are strategically late for everything. It's typically written off as an
attention seeking device. Who knows ?
    But , if so , it's working.

    • All attention isn't necessarily good attention. Especially when you become a running joke for the rest of the world leaders.

      Sigh.

  7. Whatever concerns I have about Harper's suitability to lead Canada won't be based on his apparent tendancy to be late for photo ops or a misunderstanding regarding a wafer.

  8. once okay but twice???

    wtf?
