Elvis sighting

Before he went a few days without saying something in public and everyone panicked, Michael Ignatieff made an appearance in Coquitlam. And someone taped it, then uploaded a series of clips to YouTube.

So, for whatever you wish to make of it, here is Mr. Ignatieff in Coquitlam. In part three, he comes dangerously close to discussing something that sort of almost sounds like a policy of some kind.

Elvis sighting

  1. Rumour has it that it wasn't the Igster after all but a body double – check the eyebrows to confirm!

  2. In part three, he comes dangerously close to discussing something that sort of almost sounds like a policy of some kind.

Are you referring to his mention of a "National Food Policy"? Better food and better diets for all?

    • Better food and better diets for all?

Well, I haven't watch the video yet but this is a topic I wish more people would talk about. Better nutrition could save governments a significant amount of our health care costs (in my opinion). The problem is that the results don't manifest until a couple of elections down the road, and that doesn't get you re-elected. In BC, chiropractor "treatments" are covered by the medical system but consultations with a dietitian are not, which to me seems insane.

  3. The date on these is June 27, 2009, is that right? Elvis has left the building then.

    • ROFL – You would think the pundits would pay attention to their competitors (sort of ) are experiencing when it comes to manufacturing stories wouldn't you … hmmm … Hey Aaaron MacLeans isn't owned by the Irvings is it?

      • Wherry did nothing wrong. He didn't imply the video was recent. All he said was "before he went a few days without saying something in public and everyone panicked, Michael Ignatieff made an appearance in Coquitlam", which is perfectly accurate.

  4. Not at all a bad stump speech. I can't remember the last time I saw Harper among people and not stage props.

  5. Iggy sure likes his big ideas. Nothing as grand as 'the just society', but still up there. I'm not sure how his thoughts on health, education, and whatnot translates into federal legislation. Maybe he's planning on creating informative websites and writing self-help books instead ?
