I’ve been waiting for this shoe to drop. Far-right writer Jerome Corsi was the co-author of Unfit for Command: Swiftboat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, a controversial book that rose to be a NY Times bestseller and helped launch the controversy about Kerry’s military record, and helped torpedo Kerry’s presidential bid.
I’ve been waiting for this shoe to drop. Far-right writer Jerome Corsi was the co-author of Unfit for Command: Swiftboat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, a controversial book that rose to be a NY Times bestseller and helped launch the controversy about Kerry’s military record, and helped torpedo Kerry’s presidential bid.
In the interim, Corsi has since been busy asserting a fanciful plot for the union of North America. I ran into him at the New Orleans summit between Bush-Harper-Calderon and he told me that he was working on a book on Obama. So I’ve been waiting and wondering what Corsi could come up with that would rival his anti-Kerry effort and whether he would spring something unexpected on the campaign that could change the landscape.
Today his press release landed in my inbox and from what I can tell the Obama-attack doesn’t hold anything we haven’t heard already: he’s a leftist, his step-father was a Muslim, his father was born a Muslim, (for the details on Obama’s faith, see my story here) he had associations with former radical professors, with Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko… So far, Obama has withstood these issues. The political stuff about Kenya, we haven’t heard much about… We’ll soon see whether the book raises them into a new controversy. Corsi has already been interviewed on Fox News. Debunkers on the left are sharpening their knives.
