The pointy finger of blame

This interview is a few months old, but it just showed up on YouTube and it contains perhaps the funniest sentence the Prime Minister has ever uttered: “Well, I don’t know that I want to be pointing fingers of blame.”

No, never. Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever.

Nearer the end he also refers to the necessity of “American leadership” in the world. Which, in Mr. Harper’s worldview at least, might count as an endorsement of Michael Ignatieff, no?

The pointy finger of blame

    • Or Blame Finger, and then when someone finds out Disney had a name like that registered somewhere … The Blame.

  1. Nearer the end he also refers to the necessity of “American leadership” in the world. Which, in Mr. Harper's worldview at least, might count as an endorsement of Michael Ignatieff, no?

This is a really lame attack post Aaron, even by your standards.

    • And yours aren't?

  2. What! Did the world's financial sector suddenly turn up at Parliament Hill and park itself on the opposition benches….or am I missing the point of yet another thoughtful post by Wherry?

Seriously, though, it was a fairly good interview. I suppose there wasn't anything substantive to criticize other than a relatively minor throw away line by the PM.

    • I thought it was a good interview too.

  3. Ditto john g.

    seriously.

  4. I am starting to wonder about the PM… his lack of self awareness is bordering on…

  5. Please leave Aaron alone you guys, he is clearly having an episode. He shows up places and doesn't know why

He just finds out he can't have nice things and when he looks at Glen Pearson he sees Michael Jackson.
Just the other day, Wells spanked him for posting on old material and ordered him to start blogging on events before they happen. I think the strain is getting to him.

    • LOL.

He just finds out he can't have nice things and when he looks at Glen Pearson he sees Michael Jackson.

Oh come on, you've got to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.

  6. I don't know who any of the Macleans bloggers can stand the commenters. Except for Wells, when he throws a hissy.

  7. Dang – I missed Glen Pearson's Moonwalk…
As for Aaron Wherry – his goading stick continues to be as sharp as ever IMO – Oops – Caps – sorry everyone!

  8. Impressive interview. Thanks for posting it Aaron.

  9. I like the two finger full blame attack in the last link.

    • The finger of blame turns back upon itself and consumes its own tail.

      • Fingers have tails?

        • Poetic license.

  10. Because anytime you point the finger of blame at somebody, four other digits of self-incrimination point right back at you. And then you're caught up in the web of deceit and trapped by your own whirlpool of inconsistencies, until you're sucked down the drain of ignominy.
