At a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, Greece’s lenders failed to let the country access the next tranche of loans it desperately needs to continue to repay its creditors. The same day, Moody’s Investor Services became the second credit rating agency to strip France of its AAA rank, citing concerns about the country’s high public spending and low competitiveness.
