Schulich School of Business, exterior. (York University)

The Schulich MBA offers an incredibly wide range of programming for its students. It has a whopping 18 specializations, including finance, marketing, sustainability and business ethics. It is also home to a number of industry-specific specializations, including real estate, infrastructure, mining, arts, media and entertainment, and retail.

There is also the option of completing a four-year joint MBA/JD in conjunction with Osgoode Hall Law School.

Students are given the choice of switching between full- and part-time enrolment, and can take classes at either the school’s main campus, located in Toronto’s north end, or a downtown satellite campus. With the accelerated MBA, a degree can be completed in as few as eight months.

The career development centre houses Schulich’s in-house team of career coaches and industry advisers, who can help students decide which courses and events are best for them. The centre holds frequent events that provide opportunities to meet alumni, recruiters and industry leaders.

Schulich is known for its active alumni network, who take part in seminars and conferences. The school’s Global Alumni Network operates an Alumni2Student Mentorship program, which provides students with one-on-one guidance and a chance to participate in speed-networking initiatives. Almost 1,000 alumni participate in the mentorship program, with more than 30,000 alumni involved in 91 international alumni chapters.

This fall, the school is opening its new $50-million research building, which will house research hubs and innovation labs. It will offer space for students to study and socialize, while giving the school room to grow its already wide range of courses.
