Shameless plug and ‘vacation message’

I will be speaking at the Canadian University Press annual conference in Saskatoon later this week.

I will be speaking at the Canadian University Press annual conference in Saskatoon later this week.

I’m delivering a session on how blogging has changed student newspapers on Friday at 3:45pm (Central Time). If your attending the conference, you don’t want to miss it. Sure, you could spend the time learning how to get a CUP job, learning how to cover aboriginal affairs, having a round table with other production staff, or touring the StarPhoenix.

Just like television, having a strong lead in helps your show. Thankfully, the presenter I’m following is the one and only David Cournoyer of Dave Berta fame (http://daveberta.blogspot.com/)

You’ll remember David from such incidents as “being sued by Alberta premier Ed Stelmach.”

Saturday afternoon, David and I will be part of a bloggers panel.

I will be arriving at the conference on Thursday and staying for three days/two nights. Feel free to contact me or say hello. I’m more than happy to offer any assistance I can to student journalists.

As part of going to the conference, I’m riding the Greyhound from Toronto and back. I leave Tuesday morning to arrive Thursday and leave Saturday to arrive back in Toronto around 7pm on Monday.

As such, I’m on ‘vacation’ again until at least next Tuesday.

If you need to reach me, the best way is to use my back-up email address: [email protected]. I expect my primary email will be unmanageable after 44 hours of not being checked/organized.
