A job title nobody wants

Telling people you work in the financial industry is fast becoming a huge embarrassment

Could it be the worst job in America? Probably not, but telling people you work in the financial industry is fast becoming a huge embarrassment.  The target of anger, punch lines and public opprobrium, Wall Street’s employees are the new national pariahs. “I’d almost rather say I’m a pornographer,” one retired Wall Street executive told the New York Times. Even President Barack Obama has taken a swing, calling Wall Street’s recent bonuses “shameful.”  All this scorn has many of Wall Street’s bright, up-and-comers thinking about new, more socially rewarding careers. A small silver lining to an economic disaster.
