Blur to perform live on Twitter

Britpop fans, set your clocks

Let’s face it: Noel and Liam Gallagher are not going to make nice any time soon. But fans of Britpop may rejoice: Blur, the other contender besides Oasis in the 1990s battle for UK pop music supremacy, has two new songs ready to release.

On July 2 the quartet, who reunited in 2009 after a hiatus of about five years, will debut Under the Westway and The Puritan in a live web stream via Twitter.

After the performance, which the Telegraph reports will take place in a secret UK location, the songs will be available to download. Or you can wait to buy the limited edition seven inch on August 6, once Parlophone releases it.

Get ready, get set, dance.

Here’s this, in the meantime.
