Canadian soldier dies from IED blast wounds

A Canadian soldier who was injured in an IED blast in Afghanistan has died at a hospital in Germany. Cpl. Brian Pinksen, who was injured last week while on patrol in the Panjwaii district of Kandahar, is the first Canadian soldier to die in Afghanistan since July 20. His death is the 152nd among Canadians in Afghanistan since the mission began in 2002. Pinksen was 21.
