James Holmes will appear in court today facing murder charges in the “Dark Knight” massacre. The 24-year old former doctoral student has been in solitary confinement at an Arapahoe County detention facility since the arrest, NBC writes.

Holmes is reportedly refusing to cooperate and not talking to authorities, according to CBS. Holmes allegedly entered through an exit door carrying three guns, including a military-style rifle, into a sold out theatre for the  midnight release of the latest Batman movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colorado, Yahoo reports.  Twelve were killed, including a six-year old girl, and another 58 were wounded.

Holmes’ apartment was also rigged with explosives set to detonate when the door opened, writes ABC, along with ten gallons of gasoline inside. The apartment sweep also found an array of Batman memorabilia.

Reports from FOX have also surfaced that Holmes tried to join a Colorado gun range last month, but was turned away because the owner found him “creepy.”
