Package delivered to Conservative headquarters appears to be a human foot

First it was thought a human heart lay inside a suspicious package delivered today at the Conservative Party’s headquarters in Ottawa. Now CBC news is saying the package rather contains a human foot.

From the CBC:

Hazardous materials handlers were called to the 12th floor of 130 Albert St. after the package was found and police blocked off much of the road on Tuesday. Ottawa police Staff Sgt. Bruce Pirt said major crimes investigators have taken over the HAZMAT call because if it is a human foot, “There’s a body without one.” Police said it appeared to a be a human foot in an X-ray but official confirmation will have to wait until the coroner has investigated.

According to a Twitter post by Ottawa Citizen crime reporter Megan Hurley, “Call at CP headquarters intially came in as what appeared to be a human heart. Police determined it appears to be a foot.”
