PETA sees VANOC mascots as seal slaughterers

New campaign against seal hunt targets Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games

PETA has turned its attention to Canada, using the Vancouver 2010 Olympic games as a platform to campaign against hunting seals on the Atlantic coast. In a recently launched website, (http://www.olympicshame2010.com/) PETA calls on Vancouver’s Organizing Committee to end the “seal slaughter” immediately. The site reimagines VANOC mascots Miga, Quatchi and Sumi as seal-clubbing monsters and calls upon people to “boycott a product that is vital to Canada’s economy: maple syrup.”
