Pyeongchang will host the 2018 Winter Games

Second Asian city to do so in history

The International Olympic Committee announced Wednesday that Pyeongchang, South Korea will host the 2018 Winter Games.  Pyeongchang defeated Munich and the French city of Annecy in a majority vote, making it the second Asian city to host the Winter Olympic Games. Their bid presentation featured Olympic figure skating champion Kim Yu-na and Lee. Pyeongchang already has a $1.4-billion winter resort in the works for 2018.
