After finding body parts in the Credit River near Mississauga, Ont., Peel Regional Police are resuming their search.

On Thursday morning, police found a woman’s severed head in the river, just a day after a human foot with painted toenails was found in the same area.

Police couldn’t confirm whether the foot and head belong to the same person. Tests on both body parts are currently underway.

Police also haven’t determined if the body parts were placed in the area or if they were washed down the river, which flows from the Niagara Escarpment to Lake Ontario.
