Suspected cop killer shot dead by police

Police still don’t know what prompted the deadly ambush in Washington

Maurice Clemmons, the career criminal suspected of murdering four Washington police officers, was fatally shot early this morning in Seattle. An officer was investigating a stolen car when Clemmons came up behind him. The officer ordered him to put his hands up and fired when Clemmons refused. Seattle police say the suspect had already been shot by one of the murdered officers and was carrying one of their handguns. They added that up to seven people are expected to be arrested today for helping Clemmons evade custody. Police don’t know what prompted the killings, but have identified the victims as officers Mark Renninger, Tina Griswold, Ronald Owens and Greg Richards.
