The 29-year-old Canadian celebrity chef passed away on Friday

Celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak passed away this Friday at the age of 29.

Celebrity chef Anthony Sedlak passed away this Friday at the age of 29.

The Vancouver native, who had a life-long love of cooking, won the Food Network’s Superstar Chef Challenge at age 23, and went on to host his own show on the Food Network, The Main, for four years.  He was also a judge on Family Cook Off, and author of the bestselling cookbook, The Main.

He was well known to Canadian foodies, and had a reputation for creating colourful, eclectic recipes and cheerful kitchen banter.

Sedlak’s family has released a statement saying his body was found in his North Vancouver apartment. He had collapsed from an undiagnosed medical condition.
