The next iPhone and the return of Jobs?

Apple-watchers are all atwitter over what will be announced at the company’s conference today

Apple hosts its annual Worldwide Developers Conference this afternoon. This is the forum where the company makes its big product announcements, and in the days leading up to the event the Internet has been swirling with rumours about what kind of new gadgets Apple has in store. Most analysts say a new iPhone is a certainty. There is some speculation that a $99 version is on the way, as well as a model with improved features, like a better camera. There has also been talk about a new tablet device, which would resemble a bigger version of the iPhone. But most Apple-watchers say it’s unlikely to appear today. The biggest question, though: Will Steve Jobs make a return after his lengthy sick leave? Several tech sites, like Gizmodo, will be live-blogging event.
