Comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have been named as hosts of the 70th annual Golden Globe awards by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

The announcement that the star of 30 Rock (Fey) and Parks and Recreation (Poehler) will team up has fans anticipating all kinds of funny for the Jan. 13 show, particulary after Fey was skipped over as an Academy Awards host in favour of comedian Seth MacFarlane.

Fey and Poehler will replace Ricky Gervais, who has hosted the Golden Globes for the past three years. Prior to that, the show didn’t have a host.

Their Golden-Globe gig won’t be the first time Fey and Poehler have teamed up, and fans are hoping their hosting duties might look something like this classic SNL sketch, with Fey as Governor Sarah Palin and Poehler as Katie Couric.
