Where were the blue berets?

UN “peacekeeping” force stay “holed up” in base as civilians are massacred, MSF says

The international aid organization Médecins Sans Frontières has denounced the United Nations peacekeeping force in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo for doing too little to protect the civilian population from the rampaging Lord’s Resistance Army rebel group. Villages have been burned; hundreds of civilians have been stabbed or clubbed to death; women and children have been stolen. “MSF teams do not comprehend the inaction of the ‘blue berets’ to protect the people,” the NGO said, accusing the peacekeepers of remaining “holed up” in their base, even as attacks intensify.
