Further arrest after two Saskatchewan Roughriders charged in bar fight: reports

REGINA – Media reports say a third person has been arrested in a Regina nightclub fight this summer that led to charges against two members of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Police have not revealed the identity of the suspect, who is expected to appear on an assault charge today in a Regina courtroom.

Police announced Thursday that defensive back Dwight Anderson, 32, and wide receiver Taj (TAWZH) Smith, 29, each face one count of aggravated assault.

Both made a brief appearance in provincial court and were released on conditions, including that they keep the peace and stay away from alcohol.

Regina police say they were called to a nightclub just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 18 after getting a report of a group of people involved in or gathered around a fight.

They say a 20-year-old man found at the scene was taken to hospital with serious injuries. (CKRM, The Canadian Press)
