On Thursday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced a new appointment, corporate litigator Suzanne Côté, to the Supreme Court, after his failed effort to appoint Marc Nadon. As part of the weekly Maclean’s politics podcast On the Hill, Maclean’s Ottawa bureau chief John Geddes interviewed Liberal MP Irwin Cotler—justice minister from 2003-2006 under Paul Martin—about the value of a review process.
