MONTREAL – A sister of Quebecor president Pierre Karl Peladeau is dead after the car she was travelling in plunged into a lake.
The Quebec media baron’s company issued a statement today confirming the death of 55-year-old Isabelle Peladeau.
Quebec provincial police say she was a passenger in the car when the driver lost control late Saturday afternoon in Saint-Hippolyte, north of Montreal.
Police say the driver was attempting to enter a private residence when the accident occurred in icy conditions.
The driver survived. Quebecor owns Quebec’s main tabloid papers and private TV network, along with the Sun media chain in English Canada.
