Mort Lightstone (Air Force) of Ottawa, ON joined the Royal Canadian Air Force to help support his family at 18. The next thing he knew, he was flying in a war zone. He served in the Korean War as a part of the air lift that provided essential support to United Nations Forces. He remained in the service for a total of 28 years and logged some 6,600 hours in flight missions. He has dedicated much of his retirement to raising awareness for the so-called “Forgotten War” in classrooms across Canada.
