MONTREAL – Montreal has yet another interim mayor.
City council has made the choice at a meeting today.
He is Laurent Blanchard, a city councillor and recent head of the municipal executive body.
There were five candidates in the running to take over for Michael Applebaum, who stepped down as interim mayor after being arrested on corruption-related charges.
Applebaum replaced Gerald Tremblay, who also resigned after facing allegations of corruption.
