Damned if you don’t, the country is damned if you do
FBI Director James Comey says publicizing his agency’s reopened probe into Hillary Clinton’s emails just before the presidential election was the right thing to do, even if it left him feeling a little pukey. Sitting before the Senate Judiciary Committee, the secret Twitter account possessor also maintained there was nothing wrong with keeping the department’s probe into the Trump team’s purported contact with Russian agents on the down-low at the same time.

That’s a LOT of lawn flamingos
Palm Beach has shelled out $4.5 million in security costs for Trump’s seven post-inauguration jaunts to his Mar-a-Lago spread, per the county sheriff’s office. Fortunately, the president’s pals in Congress are earmarking $61 million in protection money to be given to police departments whose towns the Donald and family have visited.

DO IT! JUST DO IT!
The president today added “Palestinian-Israeli peace process’ to the list in his top desk drawer titled: “Things I said I’d do that I don’t know much about—ask Jared or Steve.” At a White House press conference, Trump turned to Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas and promised, “We will get it done,” adding, “it’s been a long time.” Looks like someone read his Wikipedia printouts this morning.

The Patriots’ Way
“Loyalty and friendship trumps politics for me,” says former Boston Lobsters co-owner Robert Kraft, recounting how, following the death of his wife, the Donald called him weekly for a year. The longtime Democrat donor, also the proprietor of the little-known but up-and-coming New England Patriots, noted that his personal relationship with the president allows him the knowledge that “he doesn’t mean everything he says,” though he didn’t render a genuineness verdict on Trump statements like, “They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists” about undocumented Mexican immigrants, or “I don’t have a racist bone in my body,” or “Heidi Klum. Sadly, she’s no longer a 10.”

Gold for the Grey Lady
Every time the president tweets that the New York Times is “failing,” a thousand readers hit “Subscribe.” The paper reportedly added 308,000 digital-only subscriptions last quarter, a Trump bump that amounts to about a sixth of its total.
