Sherbrooke is a university that gives its students a chance to see the world, offering opportunities abroad in 36 countries so students can expand their intercultural and language skills. Meanwhile, more than 3,000 international students from 104 countries and territories attend the university. Sherbrooke features small class sizes, which help foster close relationships between professors and students. A long-established co-op program, one of the largest in Canada, integrates a wide range of programs with co-op and internships that provide more than 5,000 placements each year. “Sherbrooke offers an exceptional environment for pursuing university studies. Renowned for its methods of learning, our university is appreciated by its students,” says rector Pierre Cossette.

A green oasis with a waterfall is at the heart of the main campus, and nearby Mont-Bellevue Park offers activities such as skiing and snowshoeing. The university has two satellite campuses: the Sherbrooke Health campus, which is home to a vast biomedical complex, including a hospital and a clinical research centre; and the Longueuil campus, which offers more than 120 continuing education programs in fields such as administration, education, engineering and health sciences. Many classes are held in the evenings or on weekends to make them accessible for students with full-time jobs. Sherbrooke’s medical program is also offered in Saguenay and Moncton through partnerships with the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi and the Université de Moncton.
