French-language institutions offering English programs

Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles

Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles has four campuses located in Gaspé, Grande-Rivière, Carleton-sur-Mer and Îles-de-la-Madeleine. Its English programs are offered in Gaspé, a cozy little campus just a short distance from the harbour.

The Gaspé campus offers pre-university programs in natural science and social science, and a technical program in adventure tourism. The campus has student-athlete teams playing futsal and volleyball, and recreational activities include contemporary dance, basketball and rock climbing. Extracurricular clubs include a drama crew, a film club and a green committee that advocates for ecological action and awareness.

Cégep de Sept-Îles

Founded in 1971, Cégep de Sept-Îles is a general and vocational college near the eastern mouth of the St. Lawrence River. While not an English-language college, Sept-Îles does offer two pre-university programs in English: science and social science. Many teachers are open to adapting their course and language requirements to accommodate English-language students who wish to take French courses.

Sept-Îles is one of only three CEGEPs in the country to offer a three-year program in mineral technology, which prepares students to become geological, operational or mineral technicians.

Sept-Îles provides students with residence options in six buildings; each has six three-bedroom furnished apartments.
