Canadian skaters Duhamel and Radford win world pairs gold

BOSTON — A successful title defence for Canada’s Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford at the world figure skating championships.

They won gold in the pairs competition today after skating a clean program to Adele’s “Hometown Glory.”

Duhamel and Radford finished the long program with 153.81 points.

They landed a huge quad throw Salchow — the only skaters in the competition to do so — and had an overall total of 231.99 points.

China’s Sui Wenjing and Han Cong won silver and Germany’s Aliona Savchenko and Bruno Massot took the bronze.

Duhamel and Radford won world gold last year in Shanghai.
