Fake Batman

This clip has been on the internet for a while, but it went viral recently, and Here’s a bit of background on it: though the clip says “1974,” most sources claim it was made in 1972, several years after the show had been canceled. William Dozier (the narrator and producer), Yvonne Craig and Burt Ward agreed to come back to do the spot for the U.S. Department of Labour, but Adam West refused to do it; he was going through a phase of not wanting to be so closely associated with a part he’d only played for three years. To fill in, they got actor/impressionist Dick Gautier (Get Smart), who does the best he can (“I imitated Adam’s peculiar cadence of delivery,” he told TVSeriesfinale.com) but isn’t quite convincing. He’s much better than the replacement Jan Brady, though.
