Fans of the Six Million Dollar Man/Bionic Woman franchise will be pleased to learn that the DVD rights issues have finally been worked out, and Universal will be releasing the shows, probably in partnership with Time-Life. Franchise creator Kenneth Johnson is working on commentary tracks.

I never had much exposure to either show in my time, though like everyone else, I loved the sound effects. But  I probably would never have known they existed if I hadn’t been anxious to find out where Sesame Street got the inspiration for one of my favourite of their sketches, “The Six Dollar Man.”

And I guess it goes without saying that these days, you couldn’t build Steve Austin for $6 million or Professor Von Fission’s creation for $6.
