The week ahead

It’s a good thing the prime minister is flying down to the Big Easy, because Ottawa just became a Little Hard. We are pleased that our colleagues will have some spare time to enjoy the charms of those New Orleans cultural citadels, Coop’s Place and d.b.a., because they will not be hearing a word from Prime Minister Nothing-To-Hide until the closing Three Amigos press conference.  And perhaps not even then: with only two questions, the temptation for Canadian reporters to use them on Bush and Calderon will be considerable. Two years ago, the PM’s entourage complained bitterly that their man was not getting a chance to take questions before an international (read: Fox News) audience. This year I’m thinking they won’t mind a bit.
