BTC: It’s a date (III)

Gilles Duceppe jumps the queue and will meet with the Prime Minister on Friday.

BTC: It’s a date (III)

  1. So does this mean that advance polling in the soon to be cancelled by-elections will be tossed out?

  2. So now the official opposition is meeting with the leaders of the other opposition parties to ask whether or not it is OK to bring down the government?

What? The Conservatives are in power? They have been tying up parliament where possible to make it as disfunctional as possible and now want to blame the Liberals for it?

He even wants to go against his own fixed election date legislation now?

Canada really needs some leaders. The only leader going or invited to tea at 24 Sussex is the one who wants to tear the country apart.

We will all lose the next election I suspect.

  3. By meeting both Layton and Duceppe before the by-elections, Harper can beef-up his case that the Liberals don’t want parliament to function, assuming Dion doesn’t meet the PM before then.

  4. Neil, anyone with a brain would see through that nonsense. Besides, this is the same group of Cons who have been going on and on about what a coward Dion has been for propping up this government.

You now expect people to believe that this same “coward” is the one getting in the way of Harper getting things done?

  5. “By meeting both Layton and Duceppe before the by-elections, Harper can beef-up his case that the Liberals don’t want parliament to function, assuming Dion doesn’t meet the PM before then.”

Uhh, is Parliament in session? How is Dion inhibiting Parliament from functioning? What exactly is Harper’s case? Dion won’t meet with me at a time when Parliament is not in session, therefore he is obstructing Parliament. Huh?

  6. Looks like Duceppe blinked…

  7. Does this mean that Duceppe is going to play ball with Harper to avoid an election when his numbers are down?

  8. ROFL – LMAO I love this and this story is getting better and better. I wonder if Harper might try a move from the artful dodger and end run Dion until December and then let the Lib’s take care of things at their leadership convention = now that would be strategically brilliant beyond compare. I hope they televise the LPC leadership convention!

  9. Remember when Harper, opposing same-sex marriage claimed that any votes in the commons from a separatist party were illegitimate?

  10. Good, this sets Dion apart.
Layton and Duceppe are now playing Harper’s game. Don’t they know that chess is a two-person sport? Don’t they know that Harper only plays chess in the dark, and when he loses blames the person who opened the door?
    At least Wayne remains constant.
