‘Wanton or officious intermeddling’

Under attack from the Conservative party, the Council of Canadians maintains its perspective.

Council of Canadians executive director Garry Neil joked the Tories let his group off relatively lightly. “Unlike the epithets thrown at their political opponents, we aren’t being accused of being Nazi sympathizers, or terrorists, or being on the side of the child pornographers,” he said.

‘Wanton or officious intermeddling’

  1. What ever happened to the folks who used to post in defence of the CPC, his laughably inept group of buffoons and charlatans?

Brilliant legal defence, you asshats. I suppose we’ll now see common criminals using the defence that the person filing the complaint against them has always been biased against them. According to the bright lights in the CPC legal Dept, only those people with no political history are entitled to protection of the law.

Can these morons get any worse? Are there still deeper reserves of malevolent stupidity that they can draw on?

    • I think they all have government-issue IE9 browsers. Disqus won’t load in that browser.

  2. Presumably in the view of the CPC, opposition MPs would also count as ‘”professional agitators” who hate Tories and want to topple the government.’

    • Hell, the CPC in 2004 would count as professional agitators to these guys.

  3. “When a government starts trying to cancel dissent or avoid dissent is frankly when it’s rapidly losing its moral authority to govern.”

    Stephen Harper

Hyperbole: 1. obvious and intentional exaggeration.
    2. an extravagant statement or figure of speech not intendedto be taken literally, as “to wait an eternity.”
Obviously, the above quote is an example of Harperbole
Wow! Today I coined a new word. Feel free to disseminate

    • I like that new word!

    • I think we should use that wherever and whenever it fits. Nice one!

  4. The riposte from Garry Neil was excellent. So are the comments here. Of course, that may change with time.

  5. The Harper Gutterment, nothing but Harperbole.

  6. Harper’s Gutterment needs to understand that it’s usually the emptiest cans that make the loudest noise.
And these boys are a’rattlin’ long & loud……..
