Your hypothetical Toronto mayoral race

by Aaron Wherry

Forum Research finds support for Olivia Chow in Toronto.

In a one-on-one matchup between Ford, who has said repeatedly he intends to seek re-election, and MP Olivia Chow, the federal politician would garner 49 per cent of the vote, while Ford would pick up 34 per cent, the poll suggests.

In June, the last time Forum Research asked respondents about a Chow-Ford matchup, Chow garnered 58 per cent support.

Ms. Chow said “no” in June, but then said “we’ll see what happens” in September.

Your hypothetical Toronto mayoral race

  1. Now THAT would be a good idea!

  2. Wow, 34% for Ford! Torontonians must either be still really mad at the liberal elite, or simply, sadly, out of their gourds? It simply amazes me that Ford doesn’t have to hire someone to do up his shoelaces for him three times a day.
That’s a sad choice. Be talked down to by an out of touch elite or watch your town become a nationwide laughing stock.

    • Don’t worry it’s just 34% saying the name of someone they have heard of. If speculative polls like this were accurate they could predict how many respondents were actually going to vote, but over and over they report a small percentage who are willing to admit they won’t bother when the actual polling day numbers are closer to 50% who stay home. Do they stay home equally for all candidates? Who can tell when there isn’t even a ballot?

    • “Wow, 34% for Ford! Torontonians must either be still really mad at the liberal elite, or simply, sadly, out of their gourds?”

What’s this ‘still really mad at the liberal elite’? Have you seen what a great job they’re doing at the moment running (or should I say not running) Ontario? Frankly, I’m surprised Ford is only at 34%.

      • What the hell are you two talking about?

      • Harris had his chance before them, some job he did, right! You choose stupidity over arrogance – why? Ford has both in spades. I choose neither.

  3. Bring it on Komarades……………

    • Do Albertans practice being behind the times, or does it come naturally…..?
