At its Longueuil campus on Montreal’s south shore, the Université de Sherbrooke offers a highly personalized executive MBA program, tailored to a student’s experience and personality. Eligible candidates must have at least 10 years’ experience in the workforce, including five years in management positions. The program takes 18 months to complete, on alternating Fridays and Saturdays, and includes four off-site residencies.

In the first year, students undergo a psychometric assessment to appraise their competencies, abilities and attributes; this testing forms the basis of an individual development plan. Compulsory courses are minimal in the beginning, allowing participants to tailor their learning through a wide selection of electives on topics like crisis management, economics, taxation, marketing, finance and business intelligence. Throughout the program, students benefit from personalized support that includes tutoring and meetings with an organizational psychologist, a kinesiologist and an academic adviser. Through individual coaching sessions and a focus on self-knowledge, participants are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle choices. They receive catered meals and have access to an on-site gym; they also learn to manage personal challenges such as stress and jet lag.

Courses in the second year of the program focus on strategy, including marketing, operations management, taxation and human resources. Students also participate in a case competition and complete a multidisciplinary project relevant to the challenges of their specific industry.

The Université de Sherbrooke is a French-language institution that focuses on research, innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as promoting economic, cultural and social development in Quebec and the rest of Canada.
