Are they for real?

The Toronto Blue Jays are officially the best team in their division, but has anyone noticed

by

The Toronto Blue Jays are the best team in baseball’s American League East. No team has scored more runs than they have. And for a team that hasn’t done much in the past few years (always good, never great), and which now relies on a collection of “fill-in” pitchers, their sudden success has come as a big surprise to everyone. Still, the team has largely been flying under the radar, escaping the attention piled on rival teams like the Red Sox and Rays. But this week, the Jays  face-off against the mighty New York Yankees in a series that many expect to be their first real test, and their chance to prove that they are, indeed, the real thing. As the New York Times
reports, “They are trying to prove they can stick with anyone.”
