Bad news for Canadian innovation:Yahoo! is promising any smartphone—except BlackBerry. Adding insult to injury, Yahoo will be discontinuing IT support for BlackBerry phones.
The iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, and Nokia Lumia are some of the options Yahoo employees will be able to choose from. The company memo said Yahoo employees should be using the same phones that Yahoo users also have.
RIM shares were down 2.9 per cent in Toronto, and 3.1 per cent in New York.
